This rare vintage Bakelite parure dates to the Art Deco Era of the 1930=40's. The set consists of a necklace, bracelet and earrings. All three pieces feature marbled green and yellow Bakelite that have been decorated with flower inspired carvings.
The necklace is very unique and is single silver toned chain the is 24 1/2" long and has round balls at each end that each have silver tone embellishment.
The bracelet is 7 1/2" long and comprised of 3/4" discs with the same flower inspired designs as the necklace. The Bakelite discs are securely affixed to the silver-tone linked bracelet.
The earrings are 7/8" in diameter and have screw back clasps.
The necklace has a spring loaded "lobster claw" type clasp that works great and stays closed when being worn. (See photos #5 and 10)
No chips or cracks were seen in any of the three pieces and all tested positive for Bakelite using Simichrome polish. (See photo #13)
