Offered for sale is this cool carved Bakelite bracelet that I believe dates to the 1940's. The bracelet is a semi translucent golden brown color. Looking at the bracelet using a flashlight, it looked to me like the bracelet had originally been a translucent gold color.
Since being made, the translucent golden color had changed to its current golden brown color as the patina has aged.
The bracelet has been decorated with two large leaf carvings on opposing sides of the bracelet. Two diamond shaped medallions separate the leaf designs and have been given small circular carvings for an additional design detail.
The bracelet is 1" wide with a domed shape; weighs 42 grams and has a standard 2.5" interior diameter.
This bracelet is in excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks. Positive test for Bakelite using Simichrome polish. (See photo #10)
