This gorgeous vintage Bakelite translucent cherry necklace is 16" long and comprised of 14 large oval shaped beads that are 3/4" long with 3/4" diameter. Small round brass beads separate each of the beads. My wife's neck measures 14" at the spot where the necklace is pictured in photo #2.
The chain used in this bracelet is really unique and quite rare. Usually beads for these necklaces are strung using strong cotton cord. If you enlarge photos #5 and 8 you'll see the chain used here is a very fine woven goldtone chain.
The necklace weighs 77 grams. The clasp is a circle type clasp where there is a tiny nub that you pull back to open the clasp. It works like new and stays closed when being worn.
Beautiful semi translucent cherry color!!
No chips or cracks were seen in any of the beads and the necklace test positive for Bakelite using Simichrome polish. (See photo #10)
