This super cute vintage Bakelite brooch has been carved to resemble a pair of skis! The brooch was originally probably was a lighter shade of green or perhaps even a shade of blue. Over the years, the patina has matured to its current lovely olive green color. The brooch measures 2 2/2" x 1/2" and is approximately 3/16" thick and weighs 5 grams.
Note how the tips of the skis' have a slight upturn and the cross hatch area representing the skis' bindings.
This unique super cute brooch would be a great addition to your vintage accessories to wear next time you hit the slopes or as an addition to your Bakelite collection.
The brooch is in excellent vintage condition and tests positive for Bakelite using Simichrome polish. (See photo #10) No chips or cracks were seen. The brooch has its original roll-over "C" clasp that is in excellent working order and stays closed when worn.
